Gasoline gets slightly cheaper on Sunday; diesel unchanged

Gasoline became slightly cheaper at major chains in Romania on Sunday 18 October, by up to five bani per litre, while diesel was unchanged for an eighth day. In Bucharest the cheapest standard gasoline was 10.06 lei per litre and diesel 10.86 lei. Timisoara had gasoline at 10.04 lei, the national minimum was 9.89 lei at Iernut, where diesel was also cheapest at 10.69 lei.
The Finance Ministry earlier extended a 25 percent cut in diesel excise duty until 31 October 2026 to soften international price rises for motorists and hauliers. Prices are orientative and vary by station and update time.
